Three Rivers Flag
3’x 5’ Nylon
2016
Recently there has been a renewed interest in vexillology, the study of flag design. Many cities have outdated flags that have done nothing to symbolize their city. Knoxville is no exception. The Three Rivers Flag gives a striking symbol of the geography, past, and future of the Scruffy City. The three blue line symbolize the confluence of the Holston and French Broad Rivers forming the mighty Tennessee. The green field represents the mountains we are famous for. White for marble and the black for iron and coal symbolize the industrial past of Knoxville. And a yellow circle for you know what.
